Top 7 Breweries and Taphouses Near Celina TX
If you’re anything like us, then you love craft beer. Before the craft beer craze a few years ago, few breweries were available near Celina. Nowadays, there’s something for everyone, from small, intimate brewpubs to sprawling canneries/tap rooms. Here are the best breweries that have sprung up around Celina, TX.
Celina Breweries
We have one entry for breweries located in Celina proper. There are plenty of breweries in the surrounding area… But for our lone Celina entry, we have a treat for you.
Rollertown Beerworks
Rollertown Beerworks is a brewery you will tell your friends about after one visit. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Fresh brews are on tap with different styles for most palettes (including gluten-free seltzer).
The taproom atmosphere is open, inviting, and fun. Outside, locals play cornhole, catch up with friends over a drink or grab food from the rotating food truck. Also, here’s an insider tip: Rollertown’s delicious beers are available for curbside pickup too!
McKinney Breweries
McKinny, TX, is right next to Celina and has two unique breweries we are highlighting: Franconia and Tupps.
Franconia Brewing Co.
The Franconia Brewing Company brews in Germany and Bavaria’s “old world” styles. The roots of their brewing processes trace back to the 1800s. All their ingredients are handpicked to provide the most authentic Germanic and Bavarian beers.
Franconia has events on its website if you want to join in on some fun things happening at the taphouse. Also, Franconia brews can be found at local supermarkets and restaurants near McKinney.
Tupps Brewery
Tupps is a brewery founded by beer nerds for beer nerds. Their website boasts modern brewing processes, advanced technology, and top-of-the-line manufacturing and canning. But all that is backed up by saying: “Our best test of a beer’s quality is taste.”
The Tupps taphouse is on an old historic cotton mill in Downtown McKinney. The grounds have a rustic feel if you are outside on one of their 2 patios – perfect for sunny afternoons!
Plano Breweries
Plano always has fun options for getting out in Collin County!
Union Bear Brewing Co
Union Bear Brewing Co., a local craft beer brewery and brewpub in Plano, opened its doors early this year to much fanfare. Located at The Boardwalk in Plano, the taphouse sports a Classic American menu for favorites and a delectable cocktail and spirits selection!
Unlawful Assembly Brewing Company
Unlawful Assembly was founded under the premise that when good folks get together, great beer happens. The Unlawful Assembly Brewing Company has two locations. One is at the Legacy Food Hall in Plano, where you can enjoy their fantastic beers while tasting something new with each sip. Their cans are some of the coolest-looking cans – many of which are available in grocers and restaurants around the DFW area!
Denton Breweries
An easy drive west on Highway 380, Denton has great art, music and entertainment options – including some fun breweries!
Denton County Brewing Company
Envisioning their brewery as “Denton’s second living room,” DCBC is cozy, fun brewpub vibes taken up a notch. Guests hang out on their couches with other friends or fun-loving family members while enjoying delicious craft beers that are born & brewed right here in town.
These days they call it an ‘adult playground’ full of board games, trivia nights, and tasty appetizers – all under one roof (so no need to wander). If you become a true fan, they have a really cool insider club that gives you access to VIP events. The menu of brews that are brewed on-site is very diverse and likely to suit even the pickiest of beer snobs!
Barley & Board
Barley & Board is a Denton institution that has been delighting gastronomes since it opened its doors. B&B is located in the historic Lacy Hotel, built in 1858. Before opening to the public, the taproom designers hollowed out as much space of the old hotel, invited artists, and restored the building with a modern art facelift – without completely discarding the building’s history.
It’s no wonder that Barley and Board has garnered rave reviews from Zagat and other foodie authorities.
